Hungarian President Katalin Novak has hit out at the EU’s continued sanctions on Russia, pointing out that European countries were ultimately the ones most harmed by the policy.
Speaking on Friday during a joint press conference with Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic, Novak said, ‘The implications of anti-Russian sanctions, as we see, are affecting countries across Europe, as prices are rising and inflation is rising. Those who proposed the sanctions expected that they would have an impact on Russia, but this has never happened.’
The president’s remarks come as EU countries are battling ever-growing inflation, price rises and fuel shortages, leading to many considering implementing energy rationing as winter approaches.
