'Brandy Vaughan' enlightens a room of doctors and shows how corrupt and dangerous Big Pharma really is. Brandy Vaughan, 44, was originally a pharmaceutical employee who sold a painkiller drug called Vioxx, marketed by the Merck company. Vioxx was eventually found to double the risk of stroke and heart attack in humans. Merck knowingly continued to market the painkiller, knowing of its likely dangers. The Lancet medical journal estimates that 88 000 Americans have had heart attacks as a result of taking Vioxx, and 38 000 of them have died. Merck was eventually forced to settle the largest pharmaceutical lawsuit in history, paying out $4.85 billion in damages to thousands of people.

 

Brandy Vaughn, one of Merck's whistleblowers (she began her career as a senior Merck representative) who became an outspoken advocate for safe vaccines, founded Learn The Risk to fight the wave of mandatory vaccination laws initiated by the pharmaceutical industry.
