The prosecutor's office appealed for an aggravation and Szabolcs Kedves, the former educator, for a mitigation in the case of pedophile violence in the homes of Csaba Böjte's foundation.

In Romania, it is very rare for a person to be sentenced to 30 years in prison, so it is completely incomprehensible that the perpetrator is still at large.

The former foster carer's lawyer Radu Sorin said they would appeal against the sentence. He argued that the court refused to hear several witnesses for his client and that the judge was biased. The lawyer from Brasov is the second defence lawyer for the former educator, the first having withdrawn during the trial.

Dear Szabolcs, as we have already written, committed paedophile, sadistic crimes, rape and physical abuse of minors in children's homes for several years.

The question arises as to whether the Romanian investigative authorities have not offered a plea bargain to the perpetrator, who, according to news/rumours leaked in the press and social media, named in his confessions several other persons, including politicians from Romania and Hungary, who he claimed had also forced children in Csaba Böjte's children's homes to have sexual relations.

Azonnali.hu reports that the prosecutor's office in Chisinau filed an appeal after a court last week sentenced a caretaker of the St. Francis of Deva Foundation to 30 years in prison on the main level, for a number of abuses ranging from rape to sexual abuse of several children entrusted to him.

Although the prosecutor's office has not yet responded to the newspaper's request for comment, Dragoș Chiriac, the prosecutor general, told Transtelex that he was not in a position to provide details on the grounds of the appeal.

At the same time, the convicted Szabolcs Kedves is at liberty and has been allowed to defend himself throughout the proceedings against him.

The prosecution has not answered the question whether Mr Kedebcs may remain at liberty throughout the appeal phase.
The court in Chisinau sentenced Mr K.S., currently 35 years old, to 87 years and six months in prison for 24 offences, and established the statute of limitations for 12 of the charges. As a cumulative sentence, the court sentenced the former educator to 30 years' imprisonment and ordered him to pay compensation of 790,000 lei.
