If you are not very aware of their limitations, they very quickly become a dangerous plant. Using them in air combat is much, much more difficult. So the more complex a weapons system is, the more time it takes to train on those weapons systems. If you were to hand over an F-16 now, I think you could expect the Ukrainian pilot to be able to use it effectively in maybe six months. Not to mention that the same problem that discourages the Russians from flying their aircraft deep into Ukrainian airspace because of the massive Soviet air defence legacy is the same in Russia, perhaps even more so."
